When I've pushed one of my students really hard and they stay with it, and I read their final draft, and it's GOOD - I get so excited for them - I want the world to recognise them RIGHT NOW. And happy for me, too, that it's been worth it, and that I had something to do with it, telling them not to compromise, holding out for something better.
